Mastering the "Add Funnel": Creating New Items
What is it?
The Add Funnel is Bloomflow’s intuitive, step-by-step process for adding new data to your ecosystem. Whether you are onboarding a new startup, launching a project, or submitting a fresh idea, the Add Funnel ensures your data is structured and enriched from the very start.
To begin, simply click the "+ Add" button located in the top navigation bar, right next to the search tool.
Note: Visibility of the + Add button depends on your permissions. You must have "Can Create" access for a specific typology (e.g., Partners or Projects) to see this option.
How it Works
The Add Funnel adapts based on what you are creating. As you move through the steps, the platform may automatically populate data for you such as financial insights enriched via Crunchbase or Pitchbook—to save you time.
Depending on the item type, your journey through the funnel will look like this:
| Item Type | Creation Flow |
|---|---|
| Partner / Startup | General → Tags → Sources → Contacts → Internal contacts → Workflow → Related Items → Summary |
| Project | General → Workflow → Tags → Internal Contacts → Related Items → Summary |
| Challenge | General → Template → Access → Tags → Internal contacts →Summary |
Key Steps Explained
While the sequence may vary, these core sections help you build a robust profile:
General: The identity of your item (name, description, and details/custom fields).
Tags: Categorize your item to ensure it's easily discoverable in the future.
Sources: Sources indicate how a startup or partner was identified, such as through an event or accelerator, and they are organized into source categories.
Contacts: Contacts allow you to list and describe the people involved with a company or project, including external contacts from partner organizations or projects.
Internal contacts: Add platform users and coworkers as lead or select their role with the item added.
Workflow: Define the current stage of the item within your internal process.
Related Items: Connect your new entry to existing projects or partners to map your ecosystem's connections.
Summary: A final overview to review all information and enriched data before saving.
